Engineers Yukon updated response to COVID-19

Updated: November 18, 2020

Like many other organizations, Engineers Yukon is continuing to monitor the developing situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and we are doing our best to consider and follow the direction of the Yukon Chief Medical Officer of Health.

The following updates and instructions are issued by the Engineers Yukon Executive Committee. Please note these measures are in place to help protect the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. We will continue to assess the situation and provide updates as new information becomes available.

Office Status

In order to protect staff and visitors from inadvertent exposure to the COVID-19 virus access to the Engineers Yukon office remains limited until further notice. All visitors must make an appointment before coming to the office. To make an appointment, email staff@engineersyukon.ca

Services continue to be provided and staff can still be reached from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm via email at staff@engineersyukon.ca or by phone: 867-667-6727.

In Person Meetings

The Executive Committee has approved the resumption of in-person meetings provided the Yukon guidelines for operating safely during COVID-19 as well as the meeting venue rules are followed.

These guidelines include:

  • Maintaining a minimum 2-metre distance from anyone not in your social bubble
  • Wearing a mask when physical distance cannot be maintained.
  • Wearing a mask at all times is strongly encouraged.

Please note if the venue does not require attendance information it is the responsibility of the Committee to take attendance and obtain contact information from all participants in case it is required for contact tracing purposes.

Engineers Yukon also requires that committees provide an online option so people can still attend if they are not comfortable to do so in-person, or if they are isolating. Committees must also limit in-person attendance to people who have not traveled outside the Yukon in the past 14 days.

Public Events

Engineers Yukon will consider events on an individual basis to determine a safe approach, and will work within the guidance provided by the CMOH.
