Continuing Professional Development Seminars

Inclusive Workplaces by WinSETT

May 14th

The Continuing Professional Development and 30 by 30 Committees of Engineers Yukon are pleased to present a three-part workshop on the topics identified below. The presentation will be done by Edna Dach of the WinSETT Centre (Canadian Centre for Women in Science, Engineering, Trades and Technology).

If you are working in the Science, Engineering, Trades and Technology sector, research shows that your own subconscious bias is likely to affect your interactions with colleagues, clients and supervisors on a day to day basis. Challenge your own intuition and learn to build positive workplaces with this unique, one day training opportunity. Facilitated by the WinSETT Centre and subsidized by Engineers Yukon, this workshop will provide training on:

  • Respectful and Inclusive SETT Workplaces
  • Unconscious Bias in the SETT Workplace
  • Microagressions in the SETT Workplace

When: May 14, 2019 8:30 - 4:30
Where: KDFN Cultural Centre
Who Should Attend: Anyone who is part of a SETT workplace, whether a supervisor or employee, and who wishes to contribute to improvements of the interactions in their workplace. We strongly encourage attendance by those engineers who are signatories to the Engineers Yukon Permit to Practice for their organization.
